Anyone fooled? - Najib asks after posting doctored photos of Altantuya on FB

Fitnah Tian Chua ke atas DS Najib

Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak has posted two "obviously doctored" photographs on his Facebook purportedly of himself, murdered Mongolian Altantuya Sharibuu and former defence analyst Abdul Razak Baginda.

"I'm curious. Who was fooled by this?" he asked today in posting the photographs and linking their distribution to the current Pakatan Harapan government.

The photographs in question were published in July 2007 by PKR's former Batu MP Tian Chua, who admitted that he had created them personally and they were mere fantasy.

“I did it myself and it was not done professionally. If there had been such a dinner, that is how it will be perceived. The woman in the photograph is not the real Altantuya,” Tian said at the time.

The doctored photographs were published at a time when Razak Baginda and two former policemen, Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azhar Umar, were charged in connection with Altantuya's murder.

Earlier this year, her cousin Burmaa Oyunchimeg, testified that she had seen the real photo of Altantuya sitting together with the two men which was taken in Paris in 2005, and they were smiling at the camera.

"When we were back in Mongolia, she showed me pictures of her trip to Paris. I remember seeing three people (in the photograph), two men and Altantuya," said Burmaa at the hearing of a RM100 million suit filed by Altantuya’s family against Azilah, Sirul, Abdul Razak and the Malaysian government.

"I asked her who they were, and she (Altantuya) said one was the deputy prime minister and the other was Razak, who worked with him and did business together."

Burmaa was also shown the doctored photo created by Tian Chua and confirmed that it was not the original that she had seen.
